NY 23, A Lesson Learned?

For the special election in NY 23, the inside the beltway elitists who run the National Republican Party gave their endorsement and $900,000 to elect a RINO more liberal than even the Democrat candidate. Conservatives from all over the country made our position clear. We want no more RINOS! Yet, Senator Boehner, Newt Gingrich, Michael Steele and their ilk insisted they knew what was best for us. The NRCC even ran campaign ads against Doug Hoffman, the conservative.

Until a few days before the election, most people did not believe Hoffman had a chance to win. That wasn’t the point for most of us. We wanted to send the GOP a clear message. Purge the RINOS. Yet, in one month, Hoffman went from zero name recognition and single digit support to within 2 points of being elected to congress.

The NY 23 special election exposed the hypocrisy of the GOP leadership. They solicit funds from conservatives by criticizing liberal Democrats and then use that money to support leftist with an R behind their names.

We owe Doug Hoffman a debit of gratitude.
