The U. S. Department of Energy was formed on August 8, 1977 by President Jimmy Carter. On October 17, 1979 the U. S. Department of Education was formed by President Carter. If anything, we are more dependent on foreign oil now than in 1977. We have no obvious energy policy other than to block the use of our own natural resources. Our public schools are a disaster; education of our children has declined while propagandizing for a one-world order, socialist agenda has permeated every level beginning in elementary and culminating in our nation’s universities.
Just how dangerous is the Department of Education?
In the spring of 2010, it was widely reported that the U. S. Department of Education was purchasing 27 Model 870 police 12-gauge shotguns to be assigned to the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). When numerous queries came in asking why the U. S. Department of Education required, or would even want, 27 shotguns with 14-inch barrels, they published the following:
“The Office of Inspector General is the law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of Education and is responsible for the detection of waste, fraud, abuse, and other criminal activity involving Federal education funds, programs, and operations. As such, OIG operates with full statutory law enforcement authority, which includes conducting search warrants, making arrests, and carrying firearms.”
On June 7th, federal agents of the OIG served a search warrant on the home of Kenneth Wright in Stockton, CA. If that sounds innocuous, it was anything but.
About 15 federal agents broke down his door at 6AM, put him in handcuffs, grabbed him by the back of the neck and removed him from his home. Mr. Wright, who was only in his undershorts, was forced to the ground in his front yard. While he was held down with a knee in his back, the agents woke up his 3 children, ages 3, 7 and 11. Mr. Wright and his children were placed in a patrol car for 6 hours while the house was searched. The kids were traumatized and Mr. Wright, who has no criminal record, was humiliated.
It is reported that the OIG was looking for Wright’s estranged wife who does not reside at the residence. Justin Hamilton, a spokesman for the U. S. Department of Education refused to say specifically why the raid took place.
It is frightening enough that the Department of Homeland Security can terrorize law abiding citizens with impunity. Now it is the Department of Education!
Is your family next?

Horns of a Dilemma
Congressman Tom McClintock, CA-04, has long been a critic of the U.S. Forest Service. Now that he is Chairman of the Water and Power Subcommittee of the House Natural Resources Committee, he has the perfect forum to act on his concerns.
In the Water and Power Subcommittee Hearing last week, Chairman McClintock had this to say in connection with H. R. 489, authored by Congressman Paul Gosar: “This bill arises from the bureaucratic intransigence, megalomania and abuse that has become the new hallmark of this rogue agency.” He went on to say, “Having watched the Forest Service’s abusive behavior in my own district, I have no doubt that it is deliberately attempting to create conditions that would ultimately expel these long-established communities from the national forests. This is a pattern of abuse we are watching across the western United States.”
In a letter to USDA Forest Service Chief Thomas Tidwell dated December 22, 2010, McClintock wrote: “In May of 2009 and April of 2010, some of my California colleagues and I sent letters expressing concern with needlessly stringent travel management restrictions across Region 5. I have also had several conversations in my office with you personally in which I expressed the growing perception of my constituents that an attitude now permeates your agency that its principal purpose is to discourage the public’s use of the public’s land.” The Congressman concluded with, “During our discussions, I avowed my intention to seek redress by Congress if the Forest Service continued to drift back to the exclusionary policies of pre-Charter England. I write today to affirm that intention.” The Pacific Southwest Region, commonly referred to as Region 5, consists of 20 million acres and 18 national forests.
In January 2010, Congressman Wally Herger (CA-02) put out a statement regarding the Forest Service proposal to ban off-highway vehicles (OHVs) from its Maintenance Level (ML) 3 roads. “It is difficult to fathom how it continues to maintain its position on ML-3 roads despite the guidance of the CHP and the input of local government and stakeholders.”
Mr. Les Joslin teaches wilderness management for Oregon State University and edits the Pacific Northwest Forest Service Association’s quarterly newsletter. On March 6, 2011, Mr. Joslin posted, The Future of America’s National Forests Depends on Revised Laws and a Restored U.S. Forest Service. In this post he wrote, “Few would dispute the notion that the National Forest System and the U.S. Forest Service are impaled on the horns of a dilemma of dysfunction. On one horn is the lack of a clear-cut role for the national forests. On the other is the lack of an agency staffed by professional forest officers at all levels able to efficiently and effectively manage those lands.”
At a Regional Forest Service Roundtable on August 25, 2010, Congressman McClintock remarked: “For generations, the U.S. Forest Service maintained a balanced approach to the management of our forests …Now, it seems to be following a very different policy of exclusion, expulsion and benign neglect…”

Thomas Jefferson - Right or Wrong
A fellow two-time “March on Washington” friend of mine, Bruce Cerrone, sent me a piece on the major accomplishments and quotes of Thomas Jefferson. I agree with President Kennedy who considered Jefferson a genius. I contend Jefferson was also a prophet of uncanny accuracy.
Jefferson said “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who are not.” Anyone who could not site a long list of this happening since the days of President Johnson, and enhanced on steroids under President Obama, should not bother reading anything I write.
Jefferson said, “It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principal which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.” Wow! What a radical thought. I guess President Obama was too busy reading the likes of James Cone’s Black Theology and Black Power to study Jefferson. As the dollar continues to plummet, our nation becomes weaker. It is only a matter of time before this emboldens a foreign power to test us. China attacks Taiwan? Russia invades Georgia? North Korea attacks South Korea? Iran, Syria and Egypt overrun Israel? For those under 30 who were not home schooled, I was referring to Georgia the country, not Georgia the state. That would be a few years down the road.
Jefferson, “My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.” Ronald Reagan must have read the same history. Perhaps this helps explain why every Mayor of Detroit for the past half-century were Democrats (how has that worked out for you Detroit?). It was reported this past week that 47% of the citizens of Detroit are functionally illiterate. This occurred in spite of our spending roughly $3,000 more per student than the national average. I suspect few 2011 Detroit high school graduates will be attending the University of Virginia, founded by Thomas Jefferson.
Jefferson, “To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.” Abortion, subsidies to terrorist nations, ACORN (by any name), Fannie May… fill in your own favorites. The choices are many. Oh, did you see that Fannie May is now asking the government (us) for an additional $8.5 billion in aid! That would bring the total to nearly $100 billion. Isn’t that just wonderful? Everyone in America has the “right” to own a home, regardless of their ability to pay for it. Just take the money from Fannie May and let them replace it with Obama Stash.
Jefferson also said that, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” On this, I pray Jefferson is proven wrong. We will see come November 2012.

One Half of One Third
In blogs posted November 14 (Party Leadership) and again on December 12 (Bounce Boehner) I pleaded with the Republicans in Congress first to not allow Boehner to become Speaker of the House and, when that fell on deaf eyes, to fire him.
All we have to do is listen to the left-wing media’s praise for Boehner after the budget fiasco to understand who they want to remain as speaker. Boehner said today on Fox and Friends that he wanted to lock arms with President Obama and jump out of the boat together. If they had cement blocks tied to their ankles, I would enthusiastically support his desire.
The Republican leadership capitulated. Their next surrender will be the debt ceiling.
When will we call this treason?

Kill All the Lawyers
It was Shakespeare in Henry VI who famously wrote, “The first thing we do is kill all the lawyers.” If the Bard were to pen those words today, Homeland Security would whisk him away to an unknown location for an indeterminate length of time.
Actually, I am a reasonable man with copious amounts of compassion. I would prefer to say: “First we give them 30 days to resign their positions. If they fail to do this, we kill all the lawyers serving more than two terms in Congress…and all lobbyists.” That would cull the herd of vandals.
Congress and the Administration is stealing our money and spending us into poverty. They do so with impunity.
The Central Bank of Libya received 73 loans from the U. S. Federal Reserve in the 18 months after Lehman Brothers collapsed. While creditworthy small businesses here at home could not secure affordable loans ( thus stifling job growth) Libya was provided tens of billions of dollars in credit.
Since 2008, we have lost 2 million private sector jobs. A week ago, the total public debt outstanding of the United States was $14.2 trillion or 96.3% of GDP. That ranked 12th worst in the world. Yet, DC politicians of both parties refuse to make the spending cuts vital to the national security of our nation. At what point do we accept that their actions represent treason?

Once More Unto The Breach
We are rapidly approaching the time when the RNC, along with a few thousand voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, will provide us with another candidate for President that either has no chance to win (Dole & McCain), or are U. N. loving, conservatives in name only. One look at the current leader board being thrust upon us and clearly We the People must conduct an immediate and radical interdiction. If not, we will be asked to hold our noses and vote for the lesser of two evils, again. It does not have to be that way.
There is a Reagan Republican in our midst. This man knows that the United States is a force for good in this world. He is a man who knows that the government that governs the least is the one that governs the best. That person is Congressman Allen West. Please Goggle him and watch a few YouTube videos of him speaking. His candor and message will make you want to stand up and cheer.
There is a grassroots campaign to try and convince him to run for President. I recently sent the letter below to his Florida and DC offices. If you want a candidate that you can enthusiastically support, send him a message and copy the RNC.
Dear Lt. Col. West:
I doubt that I will sign up with the group that is trying to convince you to run for President. This is only because like the wise old sage Groucho Marx once said, “I would never join any club who would have someone like me as a member.” However, know that I truly believe that our Republic needs you… now.
I cannot imagine anyone wanting to be President of the United States. I also believe that anyone who wants to be President should never be President. So it came as no surprise to hear you say that it wasn’t your time. To paraphrase, you had not yet paid your dues. Please consider this:
When you made the decision to put the welfare of your soldiers above your career and the financial wellbeing of your family, God smiled. You have indeed paid your dues.
When our new Republic was fraying at the seams and about to come apart, some patriots went to Mount Vernon. When they asked Washington to once again lead our nation, he responded something like, “Have I not yet done enough for our Country?” Of course, he knew there was never a choice. Special men like George Washington and Allen West make the hard choices. It is in your heart. It is in your DNA. It is both your curse and your blessing.
On page 74 of my tiny CliffNotes version of what was destroying America (AR2010), I wrote: “Lt. Colonel (Retired) Allen West is running for a congressional seat in Florida. This man is a proven combat leader, not a pentagon Colonel. Check out the 6 minute YouTube “Bayonets” speech. He would make Ronald Reagan proud. If Colonel West was President rather than Barrack Obama, the world would be a safer place; safer because weakness, real or imagined, leads to aggression by others.”
I have absolutely no right to ask you once more unto the breach. No one does. But…your country needs you. She is in peril. You know this far better than I do.
Respectfully,

Rome is Burning
Representatives King and Bachmann have issued a letter to the House leadership urging them to rescind the $105 billion that was hidden within the 2.900 page bill to immediately fund Obama Care. According to Bachmann, Section 402 of this bill provides for$16 billion of this money to be spent in any manner deemed appropriate by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Also, under Section 1311(a), Sebelius is allowed to take money direct from the Treasury and give any amount to any State without having to secure approval from Congress. With the 2012 elections just around the corner, is there any doubt Kathy will deem the blue state of California, the SEIU and ACORN (by any other name) as worthy?
King and Bachmann want House Speaker Boehner to insert a provision in the new Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the government that would rescind this massive theft. According to a flash Tea Party Patriots’ email, Speaker Boehner’s response was that he would not “break the rules” by including a defunding provision in the next CR. There are so MANY things wrong with Boehner’s response, not the least of which is A) He has waived the rules for other issues and B) His party is now the majority and make the rules.
So, the Republican leadership has done their level best to convince their more conservative members to understand why they should not keep their promises to those who put them in office. Part of that promise was to cut a paltry $100 billion from the budget this year. After much blow-back, they came up with just over $61 billion in cuts. Come on! The government added $3 trillion to the national debt over the past 2 years. To put this in perspective, if you were spending $2,000 a month on necessities such as food, rent, insurance, etc. and realized you had to cut expenses or go bankrupt, this would be like cutting your discretionary spending by 6 cents a month. Yet, they are still arguing over this.
Now that we know of this $105 Billion liberal slush fund, anyone in Congress who does not support King and Bachmann in their position of immediately rescinding this atrocity is not serious about opposing Obama Care.
The House leadership is saying they want to secure a 3-week Continuing Resolution and are demanding cuts of $6 billion or they will not pass it, allowing the government to shut down. Really. According to Senator Mark Warner (D), our debt increases by $4 billion a DAY! So under this brilliant plan the debt will have a net increase of another $78 billion at the end of the 6 weeks.
It never stops. We are approaching $14 Trillion in debt and on the verge of becoming a second tier nation. With all this, what does Congress focus on? Last Friday Congressman McClintock sent out an e-letter to announce the 2011 Congressional Arts Competition, a nationwide high-school art competition sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. They just don’t get it.
Our politicians make Nero appear to have been a pro-active leader. We are rapidly running out of time to save our Republic. This is a threat to our very sovereignty.
